Apus (the Bird of Prey)
Its abbreviation is Aps. It is a small constellation located south of Centaurus, near the "South Celestial Pole." It was newly established in J. Bayer's star atlas "Uranometria" published in 1603. A wind bird is a bird of paradise that lives in tropical regions. Its approximate position is 16h0m in right ascension and -76° in declination. It reaches its highest point in the sky at 8pm in mid-July, but is not visible from Japan. [Ishida Goro]
