Japanese: プイ族(布依族) - プイぞく（英語表記）Bù yī zú

An ethnic minority group found in southern Guizhou Province, the Hongshui River basin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and in Tonkin in northern Vietnam. They call themselves Poui, Puyai, or Pudioi. The Han Chinese call them Chinjia or Yijia. The population of China is about 2.58 million (1990). The largest population is in the Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, and they are also found in Zhenfeng, Wangmo, Zeheng, Anlong, and Ziyun Autonomous Counties in Guizhou. Their language is a member of the Kham group of Tai languages, and is similar to the northern dialect of Zhuang.

中国の貴州省南部，広西チワン(壮)族自治区紅水河流域，ベトナムの北部トンキンに分布する少数民族。自称はポウイ，プヤイ，プディオイ。漢族は狆家，夷家と呼称した。中国領の人口約258万(1990)。最多集居地区は貴州省黔南（けんなん）プイ族ミヤオ(苗)族自治州で，貴州ではほかに貞豊，望謨，冊亨，安竜，紫雲の各自治県に分布する。言語系統は，タイ諸語のうちのカム語群の系統に属し，チワン語の北部方言に近似する。
