Fanfare - Fanfare (English spelling)

A musical term. It refers to an ensemble of brass instruments, especially trumpets, or the music associated with them. This music usually functions as part of a celebration or ceremony, and is distinct from solo pieces that function as signals. Originally, fanfares were characterized by triads, which were made up of natural overtones, because brass instruments with natural winds were used, but with the invention of valves, which made it possible to obtain freer sounds, the nature of fanfares changed.
