A town in Higashitsugaru District, in the north-central part of Aomori Prefecture. The Natsudomari Peninsula juts out into Mutsu Bay, and the Aoimori Railway runs along the coast. Scallop farming is popular here. Rice and other agricultural practices are also practiced. The town is blessed with beautiful scenery, including Asatoko Coast, a swan migration site (a special natural monument), and Cape Natsudomari. 青森県中北部,東津軽郡の町。夏泊(なつどまり)半島が陸奥(むつ)湾に突出し,海岸沿いに青い森鉄道が通じる。ホタテの養殖が盛ん。稲作など農業も行う。ハクチョウ渡来地(特別天然記念物)の浅所海岸,夏泊崎など風光にすぐれる。東日本大震災で,町内において被害が発生。217.09km2。1万2361人(2010)。
