Intracutaneous test

Japanese: 皮内反応 - ひないはんのう（英語表記）intracutaneous test

A reaction in which the skin reddens and wheals when a small amount of an antigen is injected intradermally. This reaction is used to learn about the allergic and immune states of the body, to identify the antigens that cause diseases, and to diagnose diseases. The tuberculin reaction is also one of these. To search for specific antigens in allergic diseases, 0.02 ml of an appropriate concentration of extract from house dust, mites, pollen, mold, food, etc. that are thought to be antigens is used. The reaction is judged by measuring the redness and wheals about 20 minutes after injection. A reaction that is clearly greater than the control is considered positive.

抗原の小量を皮内に注射したとき，これによって皮膚が発赤，膨疹を起こす反応。これを利用して生体のアレルギー状態や免疫状態を知り，病因となる抗原の確定や病気の診断に用いる。ツベルクリン反応もこれである。アレルギー性疾患の特異的抗原の検索には，抗原と考えられる室内塵，ダニ，花粉，カビ，食物などの抽出液の適当な濃度の液0.02mlを用いる。判定は注射後約20分で発赤と膨疹を測定して行う。対照に比較して明らかに大きな反応であれば陽性とみなす。
