A town in Kamo District, central-southern Gifu Prefecture. Also called "Shichiso." The Hida River flows roughly east-west through the southern part of the town. A large area of forest and wilderness is covered, and in addition to forestry and rice farming, shiitake mushrooms and tea are cultivated.
