Founder of the Majapahit Empire in Indonesia. Reigned 1293-1309. After ascending to the throne, he was named Kertarajasa Jayavardana. He was a relative and son-in-law of the last king of the Singasari Empire, Kertanagara, but in 1292 the usurper Jayakatwan killed King Kertanagara and seized the kingdom. Vijaya first fled to Madura, but eventually returned to Java, apparently in submission, and was given land on the lower Brantas River, where he secretly waited for an opportunity to regain his power.

インドネシア，マジャパイト王国の建設者。在位1293‐1309年。即位後の名はクルタラージャサ･ジャヤワルダナKertarajasa Jayavardana。シンガサリ王国最後の王クルタナガラの親戚かつ女婿であったが，1292年に簒奪者ジャヤカトワンがクルタナガラ王を殺し，国を奪った。ビジャヤは最初マドゥラ島に逃れたが，やがて表面は恭順の態度を示してジャワに帰り，ブランタス川下流の地を与えられて，ひそかに復権の機会をうかがった。
