A town in Iwanai County, Hokkaido. It is located at the base of the southern Shakotan Peninsula. In the Meiji era, it prospered through herring fishing. They stock salmon and sea urchins, and farm flounder and cherry salmon. The Raiden Coast area is a scenic spot that belongs to the Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Coast Quasi-National Park. Area: 70.60 km2 . 北海道岩内郡の町。積丹(しゃこたん)半島南側の基部にある。明治時代はニシン漁で栄えた。サケやウニの放流，ヒラメ，サクラマスの養殖などを行う。雷電海岸一帯はニセコ積丹小樽海岸国定公園に属する景勝地。70.60km2。１万4451人（2010）。
