Spring Sea - Haru no Umi

New Japanese music composed by Miyagi Michio. It was created based on the imperial theme of the 1929 Utakai Hajime poetry gathering, "Seaside Rocks," and was compiled from the sounds of waves, birds, and fishermen's boat songs, which were impressions of a boat trip on the Seto Inland Sea. It is a duet for koto and shakuhachi, but in 1932, the French female violinist Renée Chemet, who came to Japan, arranged the shakuhachi parts for violin and recorded it with the composer's koto, which became a best-seller and has since become known worldwide.

宮城道雄(みやぎみちお)作曲の新日本音楽。1929年（昭和4）歌会始(うたかいはじめ)の勅題「海辺巌(かいへんいわお)」にちなんでつくられたもので、かつて瀬戸内海を船で旅したときの印象に、波の音や鳥の声、漁師の舟唄(ふなうた)などを素材にまとめられた。箏と尺八の二重奏曲だが、32年に来日したフランスの女流バイオリン奏者ルネ・シュメーが尺八の部分をバイオリンに編曲、作曲者の箏でレコード化してベストセラーになり、以後、世界的に知られるに至った。
