Zinc hydroxide. Chemical formula: Zn(OH) 2 , formula weight: 99.4. When an alkali hydroxide is added to an aqueous solution of zinc salt, a white precipitate is obtained. When heated to 125°C, it becomes zinc oxide. As an amphoteric hydroxide, it dissolves in acid to become zinc salt, and in alkali to become zincate.
