Hayakita [town] - Hayakita
A former town in Yufutsu District, Hokkaido. The southern part is the Yufutsu Plain, and the central and northern parts are hilly, with a basin along the Abira River. The Muroran Main Line runs through the town. Dairy farming is thriving and the town produces a lot of milk. In March 2006, it merged with Oiwake Town, Yufutsu District, to become Abira Town, Yufutsu District. Area 154.61 km2. Population 5,442 (2003).

北海道勇払(ゆうふつ)郡の旧町。南部は勇払平野,中部以北は丘陵地で,その中に安平(あびら)川沿いの盆地がある。室蘭本線が通じる。酪農が盛んで牛乳を多産する。2006年3月,勇払郡追分町と合併し町制,勇払郡安平町となる。154.61km2。5442人(2003)。
