A fossil hominin discovered in the Arago Cave in Tautavel, Pyrenees, France. It is accompanied by stone tools from the Acheulean and Tayac periods and is estimated to date to the Mindel Glacial Period, about 450,000 years ago. The bones consist of facial skeletons, parietal bones, mandibles, hip bones, etc. from multiple individuals. In terms of classification, it is considered to be a primitive human (Homo erectus) or an archaic Homo sapiens. It is an important specimen, the oldest fossil hominin with a well-preserved face in Europe.
