A fossil hominin discovered in the Arago Cave in Tautavel, Pyrenees, France. It is accompanied by stone tools from the Acheulean and Tayac periods and is estimated to date to the Mindel Glacial Period, about 450,000 years ago. The bones consist of facial skeletons, parietal bones, mandibles, hip bones, etc. from multiple individuals. In terms of classification, it is considered to be a primitive human (Homo erectus) or an archaic Homo sapiens. It is an important specimen, the oldest fossil hominin with a well-preserved face in Europe.

フランスのピレネー地方のトータベルにあるアラゴ洞窟で発見された化石人類。アシュール期およびタヤック期の石器を伴い，年代は約 45万年前のミンデル氷期と推定されている。人骨は複数個体の顔面骨格，頭頂骨，下顎骨，寛骨などからなる。分類上の位置づけに関しては，原人 (ホモ・エレクトゥス) と考える立場と，古型のホモ・サピエンスと考える立場とがある。顔面のよく保存された化石人類としては，ヨーロッパ最古の重要な標本である。
