Perino del Vaga (English spelling) PerinodelVaga

[The birth of Mannerism]
Regarding the origins of Mannerism, there are two theories: one is that it originated in Rome by Michelangelo's students, and the other that it was founded by Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, who were born in Florence in the 1490s.However, as we have seen above, it is now believed that the seeds of Mannerism can be seen simultaneously in all aspects of the High Renaissance. Among these, the earliest artists include Andrea del Sarto, who perfected the style of the High Renaissance in Florence, and Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, who grew up around him, Parmigianino, who was influenced by Correggio of Parma and Raphaelism in Rome, Raphael's pupil Giulio Romano, Giovanni Francesco Penni (c. 1488-1528), Giovanni da Udine (c. 1487-1561), Perino del Vaga (1501-47), and Beccafumi, who independently promoted Leonardo-style chiaroscuro in Siena. Michelangelo's influence extended to all of them, but was particularly noticeable on Rosso Fiorentino and Pontormo.
