Born: 1696 (Genroku 9)
[Died] October 26, 1769 (Meiwa 6). Edo Edo period engraver. Founder of the Hamano school of swordsmithing. Nicknamed Tarobei, his pen names were Kankei, Otoryuken, and Hankeiko. He was a pupil of Nara Toshinaga, and his first works, bearing the signature Kankei, were mostly gentle Nara-style small patterns, but later he established his own school, changing the patterns to larger ones with Otakanikibori. The Hamano school continued for five generations, producing master craftsmen such as the second generation Noriyuki.

江戸時代の彫金家。装剣金工浜野派の祖。通称は太郎兵衛,号は閑径,乙柳軒,半圭子など。奈良利寿 (としなが) の門人で,初作の閑径銘時代は奈良風の小模様の穏やかな作品が多いが,のち大高肉彫で模様も大柄なものに変化し一派を立てた。浜野派は5代まで続き,2代矩随 (のりゆき) らの名工が出た。
