Japanese: 千畑[町] - せんはた

A former town in Senboku District, eastern Akita Prefecture. The eastern part is made up of the Mahiru Mountains, and the western part is made up of the alluvial fan of the Mahiru River and Maruko River. Old settlements are located along the spring water zone at the end of the alluvial fan, with Ichijogi as the central settlement. The central part of the alluvial fan, east of the spring water zone, was opened up as rice fields when the national Tazawa Canal was completed in 1962. The town produces a lot of rice, including Akitakomachi, and also cultivates apples, tomatoes, and soybeans. In November 2004, it merged with Rokugo Town and Sennan Village in Senboku District to become Misato Town. 87.58 ^km2 . Population: 8,637 (2003).

秋田県東部，仙北郡の旧町。東部は真昼(まひる)山地，西部は真昼川，丸子川の扇状地からなる。扇端部の湧水帯沿いに古い集落があり，中心集落は一丈木(いちじょうぎ)。湧水帯以東の扇央部は，1962年に完成した国営田沢疎水により開田された。あきたこまちなどの米を多産し，リンゴ，トマト，大豆などの栽培も行う。2004年11月仙北郡六郷町，仙南村と合併し町制，美郷町となる。87.58km²。8637人（2003）。
