Permanent wave

Japanese: パーマネント・ウェーブ(英語表記)permanent wave
Permanent wave
A method of making hair wavy by changing the structure of the hair through the action of heat or chemicals. The name comes from the fact that the waves last for a long period of time (3 to 4 months), and it is also called a perm or permanent for short. The Marcel wave, which uses a branding iron and was invented by Parisian hairstylist Marcel Grateau in 1872, was a method of curling hair that was popular among upper-class ladies and actresses. In response to this, the waving method using electric heat was introduced in London in 1905 by German-born hairstylist Karl Nessler.
