Japanese: ハナカメムシ(花亀虫) - ハナカメムシ（英語表記）flower bug

A general term for insects in the Hemiptera family Anthocoridae. They feed on other insects, insect eggs, and spider mites. They are so named because they sometimes live on flowers. They are extremely small and all insectivorous. There are about 500 species recorded worldwide, with about 30 recorded in Japan. The body is flat and slender, and the head protrudes significantly forward beyond the compound eyes. They have simple eyes. The antennae are four segments, with the two tip segments being thread-like and the base two segments being of similar thickness. The brown stink bug, Lyctocoris beneficus , is around 3.5 mm long.

半翅目ハナカメムシ科Anthocoridaeの昆虫の総称。他の昆虫や昆虫の卵，ハダニ類などを食べる。花上生活をすることがあるのでこの名がある。きわめて小型ですべて食虫性。世界に約500種，日本から約30種が記録されている。体は扁平で細長く，頭部は複眼をこえて著しく前方に突き出す。単眼をもつ。触角は4節で先端の2節が糸状のものと，基部2節と同様な太さのものとがある。ズイムシハナカメムシLyctocoris beneficusは体長3.5mm内外。
