Born: 1724 [Died] Tenmei 5 (1785) He was the head of the Edo Ichimura-za Theatre and a Kabuki actor. His stage name was Tachibanaya. He was the son of Ichimura Uzaemon VIII. He succeeded him as head of the theatre in 1762 and took the stage name of the 9th. He was skilled in both rough and gentle plays, but was especially skilled in shosamotto.
