The prince later became Emperor Keitai. One day, the emperor finds a madwoman at a viewing party and learns from the flower basket she is carrying that she is Teruhi no Mae, who is so infatuated with him that she is infatuated with him. [1] 〘名〙① 花などを摘んで入れるかご。花籠。※平家（１３Ｃ前）灌頂「花がたみ臂(ひぢ)にかけ岩つつじ取り具して」② 香木の名。分類は新伽羅(きゃら)。香味は甘苦辛。六十一種名香の一つ。〔名香合（1502）〕③ 植物「みみかきぐさ（耳掻草）」の異名。[2] 謡曲。四番目物。各流。世阿彌作。越前国味真野(あじまの)に在住していた大迹辺皇子(おおあとべのおうじ)は皇位継承のため上洛することとなり、そば近く寵愛していた照日の前に別れの文と花筐を残して去る。皇子はのちに継体天皇となる。ある日天皇は紅葉狩の行幸の場に狂女を見つけ、持っていた花筐から、その狂女が自分を慕うあまり心乱れた照日の前だと知り、伴って都に帰る。[3] 枕 (一)①の編目が細かいところから、「めならぶ」にかかる。※古今（905‐914）恋五・七五四「花がたみめならぶ人のあまたあれば忘られぬらん数ならぬ身は〈よみ人しらず〉」
