Yawata Yahata

[1][1] The name of a place in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. Along the Chikuma River, it was a post station between Shionada and Mochizuki on the Nakasendo road during the Edo period. [2] The name of a place in the western part of Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture. [3] The name of a place in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. Known for "Yawata no Yabu Shirazu." [4] The name of a place in the southwestern part of Kyoto Prefecture. It is located on the south bank where the Kizu River, Uji River, and Katsura River join together and change their name to the Yodo River. Since the Middle Ages, it has flourished as a temple town for Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine and a river port for water transportation on the Yodo River. It is a residential town near the Keihan area. It was incorporated as a city in 1977 ( Showa 52 ). Yahata [Yahata]

[1] The name of the area in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. After the construction of the Yahata Steel Works (now Nippon Steel Corporation) in 1901 , it developed rapidly and became the main part of the Kitakyushu Industrial Zone. It was incorporated as a city in 1917. In 1963, it merged with the cities of Moji, Kokura, Tobata, and Wakamatsu to form Kitakyushu City, which became Yahata Ward. やはた【八幡】

[一] 福岡県北九州市の地域名。明治三四年(一九〇一)八幡製鉄所(現、新日本製鉄)の建設後急速に発展、北九州工業地帯の主要部となる。大正六年(一九一七)市制。昭和三八年(一九六三)門司・小倉・戸畑・若松の各市と合併して北九州市を設置、八幡区となる。同四九年八幡東・八幡西の二区に分割。[二] ⇒やわた(八幡)
