Its abbreviation is Tri. It is a minor autumn constellation located south of Andromeda, with three 3rd magnitude stars forming a long, narrow right-angled triangle. It has existed since the time of Hipparchus of Greece and is said to symbolize the Nile Delta. The spiral galaxy M33 is an Sc-type galaxy with well-developed arms, with an apparent diameter of 62' x 39', a distance of 2.4 million light years, an apparent brightness of 6.3 magnitude, and its center can be seen with binoculars. Its approximate position is right ascension 2h0m, declination +32°. It reaches its culmination at 8pm in mid-December. [Ishida Goro]
