The hometown of Kibune
Otogi-zoshi. Many have been handed down as picture scrolls and Nara picture books, and each one has its own narrative. By imperial decree, Hon Sanmi Chujo welcomes beautiful women from the Flower Capital, but he is unable to find one that meets his heart, and returns them all with problems, resulting in 560 women being sent back in three years. During a fan contest held in front of the emperor, he falls in love with a picture of a woman painted on a fan, and decides to seek out the artist and meet the woman. He goes to the great hall of Nisso-Tsuriki, where he learns that she is a 13-year-old "Kontsu-jo," the daughter of the king of Kikoku, deep in Kurama.

御伽草子。絵巻,奈良絵本で多く伝来しており,一本ごとに叙述の出入りがある。本三位中将は帝の宣旨により,花の都のみめよき女を迎えるが,心にかなう人がなく,みな難をつけて返し,その数は3年間に560人に及んだ。帝の御前で扇くらべの催しのおり,扇に描かれた女房の絵を見て恋に陥り,その絵師を尋ねて女房に逢おうと決心し,二相通力(つうりき)の大殿(おおいとの)に参り,鞍馬の奥にある鬼国(きこく)の大王の乙娘(おとむすめ)で13歳の〈こんつ女〉であることを知らされる。
