Chinese literary historian and critic. His real name was Qian Defu. In 1927, he founded the Taiyang Society with Jiang Guangci and others, and was active as a proletarian literary theorist. Later, under the names A Ying and Zhang Ruoying, he engaged in literary history research. He has written and edited many books, including the historical materials and indexes for the New Chinese Literature Series, the History of Late Qing Novels, and the Late Qing Literature Collection.
