Japanese: 配植 - はいしょく

It refers to planting plants, mainly trees, in a certain area of a landscaped space such as a garden or park in an appropriate location for the purpose of landscaping, appreciation, environmental conservation, disaster prevention, etc. When making a planting plan, first clarify the purpose of the planting, and then imagine the impression that the planting will give in relation to that. Elements of this include beauty, harmony, stability, unity, conflict, balance, connection, change, repetition, and gradation. Next, an environmental survey of the planting site is conducted. Based on the above, if the plants to be used have not yet been decided, an appropriate species is selected.

植物，おもに樹木を庭園，公園など造園的空間内の一定の区域に，修景，観賞，環境保全，防災などの目的に応じて，適切な場所に植えることをいう。配植計画を立てるにあたり，まず植栽目的をはっきりさせ，それに関連して配植による印象を想定する。その要素として，美，調和，安定，統一，対立，つりあい，連係，変化，反復，漸移などがある。次いで植栽場所の環境調査を行う。以上を総合して，使用植物が未定であれば適種を選定する。
