Japanese: お告げ - おつげ

…It is sometimes used synonymously with oracle. Generally, it means a divine revelation, but strictly speaking, it means the word of God. The methods of obtaining oracles vary depending on the ethnic group and religion, but common examples include dreams, divination, auspicious signs, the shape of the internal organs of a sacrificed animal, natural disasters, and the cries of animals.
