A river that flows west through the Shimajiri area of Okinawa Island (main island) in Okinawa Prefecture. It is 14 km long. It is a tributary of the Kokuba River system and is one of the longest rivers in the Shimajiri area. From Taira in Ozato Village to Kochinda Town, it flows through a valley-like lowland in the Shimajiri mudstone area, flows north at Tonoha and Takayasu in Tomigusuku Village, and flows into Manko Lake downstream of the Kokuba River. Ishihiya Bridge, built at a point southeast of the Tomigusuku Castle ruins, was once a bypass bridge to Naha Port, and was remodeled into a five-section stone bridge in 1697 (Genroku 10), but was destroyed during the Battle of Okinawa.
