System knowledge - Seidotsuu
A book about the transition of Chinese institutions and the relationship between Chinese and Japanese institutions. 13 volumes. Written by Ito Togai, a Confucian scholar in the mid-Edo period. There is a preface from 1724, but it was published in 1797. It does not discuss Japanese institutions after the imperial dynasty, but the description is factual and accurate.
