Equilibrium electrode potential

Japanese: 平衡電極電位 - ヘイコウデンキョクデンイ

The electrode potential when an electrode reaction is in equilibrium in an electrode system. The equilibrium electrode potential Ee corresponding to the electrode reaction Ox + n e ^- ⇄Red (Ox and Red are the oxidized and reduced forms of a certain redox system, e ^- is the electron, and n is the number of electrons involved in _the reaction) is given by Ee = _E_゜+ ( RT / nF )ln( aOx / aRed ). This relationship is called the Nernst equation for equilibrium electrode potential. Here, R is _the gas constant, T is the absolute temperature, F is _{the Faraday constant, and aOx} and _aRed are the activities of the oxidized form Ox and the reduced form Red.
