A former town in Yosa County, northern Kyoto Prefecture. Along the Noda River, it occupies the eastern half of Kayadani. Rice and other agricultural products are cultivated here, and textile industries such as Tango crepe are thriving. In March 2006, it merged with Kayo Town and Iwataki Town in Yosa County to become Yosano Town in Yosa County. Area 35.90 km2 . Population 11,330 (2003). 京都府北部,与謝(よさ)郡の旧町。野田川に沿い,加悦谷(かやだに)の東半を占める。米作などの農業を行い,丹後縮緬(ちりめん)などの機業が盛ん。2006年3月,与謝郡加悦町,岩滝町と合併し町制,与謝郡与謝野町となる。35.90km2。1万1330人(2003)。
