First disciple. He took over the name of the second from Tsurumatsu and the fourth Gochiku, but later changed his name to Ensho and became a lecturer. [Kazuo Sekiyama] 3rd generation(1845-1909) His real name was Takeda Kametaro. He passed through the schools of Tachikawa Sanko, Katsura Keiji, Ensho, Matsuhashi, and Kizuru before becoming the third Matsuzuru. He later became a lecturer under the name Takeyamajin. [Kazuo Sekiyama] 4th generation(1869-1942) His real name was Morimura Yonekichi. He was one of three disciples. He took on the stage names Miyomatsu, Shochiku, Banzai, and Shikaku before assuming the stage name of the 4th generation in 1907 (Meiji 40). [Kazuo Sekiyama] 5th generation(1884-1950) His real name was Umenosuke Takeuchi. He was the 4th generation disciple. He took the name of Mitsutsuru and Shidazuru to become the 5th generation in 1935 (Showa 10). He established the Rakugo-so in his home and published the magazine Kamigata Hanashi. He contributed to the preservation of Kamigata Rakugo. [Kazuo Sekiyama] 6th generation(1918-86) His real name was Hideo Takeuchi. He was the eldest son of the 5th generation. After going through Matsunosuke, Mitsuru, and Shidazuru, he took on the name of the 6th generation in 1962 (Showa 37). His specialties include "Kouzu no Tomi," "Sanjikkoku," and "Rakuda." Furthermore, Shofutei Matsuba (real name Masataka Kuramoto) (1952-96), who was to take on the name of the seventh generation, passed away on the day that he was scheduled to perform the name-taking ceremony.
