A plant of the Asteraceae family that blooms in fields and mountains and resembles the cultivated daisy. The flower heads are made up of clusters of ray florets and tubular flowers, and those with blue-purple ray florets are generally called Nogiku. It refers to the yomena and nokonogiku that grow in human-smelling places such as cultivated fields and mountain roadsides, and is praised for its delicate flowers. The concept of Nogiku also includes the spring-flowering miyamayomena, which is common in mountainous areas, the white-flowered ryunougiku and white yomena that bloom in autumn, and the yellow aburagiku, but generally it refers to wild chrysanthemums that bloom in autumn in lowland human settlements.
