Eelgrass bed - Amamoba

Japanese: アマモ場 - あまもば

...The flowering season is from April to May in Honshu, Japan. It is widely distributed along the coasts of temperate to cold zones in the northern hemisphere, forming seaweed beds where shellfish and young fish grow, which are called eelgrass beds or seaweed beds. The rhizomes and young shoots are also edible because they are sweet, hence the name sweet seaweed.

...However, interstitial fauna such as tiny crustaceans, polychaetes, and nematodes are particularly numerous in the sand. Eelgrass beds, which are a type of seaweed with true roots, often form offshore from sandy beaches. In contrast, rocky reefs are home to a wide variety of mainly epifauna, including barnacles, sessile bivalves such as mussels, limpets, and gorgonians.

...Submerged seaweed or seaweed communities that spread along the coast. A colony of the flowering plant eelgrass is called a Zostera bed, and a colony of the brown algae Sargassum is called a Sargassum bed. Eisenia bicolor, Ecklonia cava, and kelp also form large colonies, which are called submarine forests.
