A town in Shimotsuga County at the southern tip of Tochigi Prefecture. Most of the town is on a plateau, and it produces rice, wheat, and fruit trees, and greenhouse horticulture is also popular. An industrial park has been developed, and many companies are moving into the town. The Tohoku Main Line runs through the town.
