Research Council on Basic Issues of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries

Japanese: 農林漁業基本問題調査会 - のうりんぎょぎょうきほんもんだいちょうさかい

This is an advisory body to the Prime Minister established by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Basic Issues Research Council Establishment Act (promulgated on April 20, 1959, with a time limit of March 31, 1961). It was tasked with formulating the state of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in a growing economy, as well as basic policies for agriculture, forestry and fisheries. The results of its deliberations were submitted as "Basic Issues and Basic Measures for Agriculture" on May 10, 1960, and "Basic Issues and Basic Measures for Forestry (Fisheries)" on October 26 of the same year. Based on these reports, the Agricultural Basic Act (promulgated on June 12, 1961), Coastal Fisheries Promotion Act (promulgated on August 1, 1963), and Forestry Basic Act (promulgated on July 9, 1964) were later enacted, setting the direction for new agriculture, forestry and fisheries policies.

農林漁業基本問題調査会設置法(1959年4月20日公布施行，61年3月31日までの時限法)により設置された内閣総理大臣の諮問機関。成長経済下における農林漁業のあり方ならびに農林漁業に関する基本政策の立案にあたった。その審議の結果は〈農業の基本問題と基本対策〉として1960年5月10日に，また林業，漁業については〈林業(漁業)の基本問題と基本対策〉として，ともに同年10月26日に答申された。これらの答申にもとづき，のちに農業基本法(1961年6月12日公布)，沿岸漁業等振興法(1963年8月1日公布)，林業基本法(1964年7月9日公布)が制定され，新農林漁業政策の方向づけが行われた。
