Zealot Party - Zealot Party (English spelling)

Japanese: 熱心党 - ねっしんとう（英語表記）Zēlōtai; Qanna'eem

A group of radical Jewish nationalists during the Roman Empire who used force to oppose Roman power. Its organization as a revolutionary party is first mentioned in 66 AD during the First Jewish Revolt against Rome, but is usually thought to date back to the revolt of Judas the Galilean in 6 AD. Qanna'eem and Zēlōtēs come from the Hebrew and Greek words for "zeal." Simon was a member of the party, and it is thought that Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus, as well as James and John, were also involved.
