Neoceratodus (English spelling) Epiceratodus forsteri

Japanese: ネオセラトダス(英語表記)Epiceratodus forsteri
Neoceratodus (English spelling) Epiceratodus forsteri
A freshwater fish belonging to the Epiceratodus family of the lungfish subclass (illustration). It lives in the rivers of Queensland, Australia. The aboriginal people called it barramunda. Fossils of the Ceratodus genus have been found in Europe, Colorado, America, India, and other places, but a strange fish discovered in Queensland in 1869 was determined to be a lungfish of this genus, which was thought to be extinct, based on the shape of its teeth, and was given the scientific name Ceratodus forsteri .
