Minamihara Tomb
A keyhole-shaped tomb from the late 4th century located in Chohoji Minamihara, Nagaokakyo, Kyoto Prefecture. It is located on the eastern slope of the Nishiyama mountain range on the right bank of the Katsura River, and a hill with a height of over 90m was modified to form a south-facing tomb. It is 60m long, 40m wide at the rear and 28m wide at the front. No roofing stones can be found, but cylindrical haniwa remains, including a finned cylinder. In 1934, villagers excavated a pit-type stone chamber at the rear, and Kyoto Prefecture conducted an investigation. The chamber is located north to south along the long axis of the mound, and is made of broken stone with an internal dimension of 5.3m long, 1m wide, and 1.3m high, with a clay floor inside.
