New Haven
A port and commercial/industrial city on the Long Island Sound in southern Connecticut, USA. It has a long history of weapons and hardware production, and has machinery industries such as electrical equipment, clocks, and sewing machines. It is the home of Yale University (founded in 1701). Founded by Puritans in 1638. Population: 129,779 (2010).
