This is a Todaiji temple journal created during the Heian Insei period. The preface states that it was compiled in 1106 (Kasho 1) by the Todaiji monks hoping for the temple's prosperity. It appears to have been expanded and reorganized further, and the colophon indicates that it was compiled by Todaiji Kangon in 1134 (Chousho 3). It is made up of 10 volumes and 10 chapters, and consists of sections on the main vows, origins, memorial services, temples, assemblies, sects, head priests, sealed rice fields, branch temples, and miscellaneous matters. It compiles key matters about Todaiji based on ancient documents and records that had been handed down at the time, and it would have served as a kind of guide for the monks of the temple. It is extremely important not only for the history of Todaiji, but also as a research historical resource for a wide range of fields, including politics, economy, society, and culture from ancient times to the Insei period. It also contains rare historical materials that no longer exist, such as fragments from the Enryaku Soroku. Two ancient manuscripts from 1241 (Ninji 2) are kept at Daigoji Temple, and one from 1485 (Bunmei 17) is kept at Todaiji Temple. Both are designated as Important Cultural Properties by the government. Published works include the "Todaiji Yoroku" (1971, Kokusho Kankokai), edited by Tsutsui Hidetoshi, "Zokuzoku Gunsho Ruiju," and "Dai Nippon Bukkyo Zensho."
