Located in Sakai, Yoshino, Matsuoka-cho, Yoshida-gun, Fukui Prefecture. It was thought to be a circular tumulus, but the current theory is that it is a keyhole-shaped tumulus. It was built facing southwest on the south bank of the point where the Kuzuryu River enters the Fukui Plain, on the top of Mt. Nihonmatsu, which is 273 meters above sea level. The location of the end of the tumulus is unclear, but it is said to measure 90 meters in total length. It is missing roofing stones, but contains clay figurines. During the Kyoho era (1716-36), a stone coffin was excavated from the circular mound at the back. It is said that armor and human bones were found at the time, but a re-excavation in 1880 only unearthed a small number of artifacts, including jewels.
