Born in 1877. Son of Narahara Shigeru. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University and joined the navy. At the same time, he researched and developed airplanes at his own expense. In 1911, he piloted the Narahara Type 2 at Tokorozawa Airfield in Saitama Prefecture, flying 60 meters from a height of 4 meters, becoming the first Japanese-made airplane to successfully fly. He also devoted himself to training civilian pilots. He passed away on July 14, 1944. He was 68 years old. He was born in Kagoshima Prefecture.
