Heishi Rebellion

Japanese: 丙子の乱 - へいしのらん

The second invasion of Korea by the Qing Dynasty occurred in 1636 (the 14th year of the reign of Injo of the Yi Dynasty and the 1st year of the reign of Sutoku of the Qing Dynasty). In Korea, it is called the Byeongja Horan. After the first invasion in 1627 (the Dingmao Rebellion), the Qing (Later Jin) established a brotherly relationship with Korea and collected a large amount of tribute every year, including military supplies and warships for the war against the Ming. This led to growing anti-Qing and pro-Ming sentiment in Korea, and in 1632, when the Qing changed their relationship from brotherly to vassal relationship and demanded an increase in tribute, King Injo of Korea issued a declaration of war throughout the country. In response, Taejong of the Qing attacked Korea with an army of 100,000 in December 1636.

1636年(李朝の仁祖14∥清の崇徳1)に起きた清の第2回朝鮮侵略。朝鮮では丙子胡乱という。清(後金)は1627年の第1回侵略(丁卯の乱)以後，朝鮮と兄弟関係を結び，対明戦の軍糧，兵船など多大な貢物を毎年徴収していた。このため朝鮮では反清親明意識が高まり，32年，清が兄弟関係を君臣関係に変え，貢物を増加するよう要求したことを契機に，朝鮮国王仁祖は全土に宣戦教書を下した。これに対し清の太宗は36年12月，10万の軍隊で朝鮮を攻撃した。
