[1] 〘 noun 〙① An altar used in Shinto rituals. [Nippo Jisho (1603-04)] [Shiji - Feng Zenshu]② (maṇḍala, translation of mandala) A Buddhist term. A platform on which Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, etc. are placed and offerings and utensils are arranged during rituals. ※Utsubo (c. 970-999) Fujiwara no Kimi "Five stones are needed for rituals. Earth is needed for plastering."③ A Buddhist term. A platform used for receiving ordination. There are various platforms depending on their structure and purpose. ※Kanchiin Hon Sanbo-e (984), lower "Not only monks can climb the platform to ascend, but lay people can also ascend depending on the location."④ A place where earth and other materials are piled up high. A place that is higher than others. [Meigoki (1275)] *Toraakirahon Kyogen Bunzo (late Muromachi period - early modern period) "The place was on the upper level of the Kobayakawa River, immediately at a place called Rokukoku." [2] [Ephemeris] Expresses the meaning of a society of friends with the same specialty. It often refers to a group of people related to the arts, such as the "literary world" or the "haikai world."
