Japanese: 鉛合金 - なまりごうきん（英語表記）lead alloy

A general term for alloys that contain lead as one of their components, taking advantage of the various properties of lead and compensating for deficiencies in strength, hardness, etc., to suit the intended use. Lead-antimony Pb-Sb alloys are widely used, and have the highest hardness of all practical lead alloys, and are called hard lead. They have excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. There are various ranges of Sb, and they are used for plates, pipes, etc., as well as chemical industry equipment and joints. Alloys with about 1% Sb are used for water pipes, and alloys with about 5% Sb are used for automobile batteries.

鉛がもつ種々の特性を生かし，使用目的に合うように強さや硬さなどの不足する点を補った，鉛を成分の一つとする合金の総称。広く用いられているのが鉛‐アンチモンPb‐Sb合金で，実用鉛合金中で硬度が最も高く，硬鉛と呼ばれる。機械的性質，耐食性にすぐれる。Sbの範囲には種々のものがあり，板，管などとして用いられ，化学工業用装置，継手などにもされる。水道管にはSb約1％の合金，自動車用蓄電池には5％程度の合金が使われる。
