A town in Chichibu County, western Saitama Prefecture. It was formerly Nogami Town in 1972. It is located in the upper reaches of the Arakawa River, and is mostly mountainous with a small amount of lowland along the river. It is a tourist town with a developed commercial and industrial base. The Chichibu Railway runs through the town, and Nagatoro is located in the south. Area: 30.43 km2 . Population: 7,908 (2010). 埼玉県西部，秩父郡の町。1972年野上町が改称。荒川の上流域にあり，大部分は山地で川沿いにわずかな低地がある。観光の町として商工業が発達している。秩父鉄道が通じ，南部に長瀞(ながとろ)がある。30.43km2。7908人（2010）。
