A monthly women's magazine published by Fujin no Tomosha. It was first published in April 1903 (Meiji 36) by Hani Motoko with the help of her husband Yoshikazu. It was called Katei no Tomo until the December 1907 issue. It was characterized by editorial content that encouraged women to become more self-aware by providing specific advice on how to improve their lives in terms of food, clothing and shelter, but during the war it showed a supportive stance towards the war effort, just as popular family magazines did. The "Friends Association" organized by readers developed nationwide, and as a result, it is said that many of its readers were women with a high level of social interest, and it is also characterized by a high proportion of direct sales.
