A collection of tales based on Chinese stories adapted into a song-tale style. One volume. Consists of 27 chapters. The date of its creation is unknown, but it may have been the end of the Heian period. Some say that the author was Fujiwara no Shigenori. Many of the stories are about familiar figures who were quoted in tales and other stories. The original sources include the Collected Works of Bai Juyi and many other Chinese books, but many parts are thought to have been based on similar books such as the Mengqiu.
