Japanese: 五色[温泉] - ごしき

This hot spring is located in Itaya, Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, on the middle slope of Mt. Takakura, which is connected to Mt. Azuma and Mt. Iegata. It is said that En no Ozunu discovered it during the Nara period, and that a vassal of the Uesugi clan cured a strange illness here during the Sengoku period. It is known as Kodakara no Yu. Simple spring water. 43°C. At an altitude of 850m, it is a good place to escape the summer heat and ski. It is close to Itaya Station on the Ou Main Line, and there is also Shin Goshiki Onsen nearby.

山形県米沢市板谷，吾妻火山や家形山に続く高倉山の中腹にある温泉。奈良時代に役小角(えんのおづぬ)が発見したとも，戦国期に上杉氏の家臣がここで奇病を治したともいう。子宝ノ湯として知られる。単純泉。43℃。標高850mで避暑，スキーの適地。奥羽本線板谷駅に近く，付近に新五色温泉がある。
