The title of a Kyogen piece. A side kyogen. A new market is established, and the first merchant to arrive will be given special business privileges in the future. The kakko seller arrives first, but since there is no one there yet, he decides to sleep and wait for dawn. Next, the pot seller (shite) appears, and noticing the first one to arrive, pretends to be the first to arrive and sleeps next to him. When the two wake up, they start fighting over who will be the first to arrive, and the magistrate steps in to mediate, but each of them refuses to give in, citing historical events and saying that their own business is the one that deserves to be the top of the market. They decide to have a contest, and the winner's argument is accepted, but the contest ends in an ambiguous match. The pot seller imitates the kakko seller's agile dance, but fails and breaks the pot, and the piece ends with the words, "We are celebrating the large number of people." This song showcases the wonderful contrast between the determined and agile kakko seller and the worldly-wise but clumsy pot seller.

狂言の曲名。脇(わき)狂言。市(いち)が新設され、一番乗りした商人には将来にわたって商売上の特典が与えられるというので、まず羯鼓(かっこ)売りがやってくるが、まだだれもいないので、ひと寝入りして夜明けを待つことにする。続いて鍋売り（シテ）が登場、先着者に気づくが一番乗りを装って同じくそばに寝る。目覚めた両人が先着争いをしているところに目代が仲裁に入るが、互いに自分の商売物こそが市の筆頭にふさわしいと故事来歴を引いて譲らない。そこでいろいろ勝負をさせ、勝ったほうの言い分を認めることにするが、勝負がつかず相舞(あいまい)になる。羯鼓売りの俊敏な舞を鍋売りがまねるが、うまくいかず鍋を割ってしまい、「数が多くなってめでたい」といって終曲。あくまできっぱりと敏捷(びんしょう)な羯鼓売りと、いかにも世知にたけているが鈍重な鍋売り、すべてに対照の妙が発揮されている曲。
