Inuyama [city] - Inuyama
A city in northwestern Aichi Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1954. The west is the Nobi Plain, the east is hilly, and the city developed from the castle town of the Naruse clan, whose Inuyama Castle was located on the Kiso River that flows along the northern border. The Meitetsu Inuyama Line, Komaki Line, and Hiromi Line pass through the city. It is a tourist city with the Nihon Line, which is part of the Hida-Kisogawa Quasi-National Park, cormorant fishing on the banks of the Kiso River from June to September every year, the Nihon Monkey Park with the Nihon Monkey Center that conducts research on the ecology of monkeys, Iruka Pond, Meiji Village, and the Little World open-air museum of human history that opened in 1983 on the border with Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. Since the 1960s, industrial parks have been developed, and plastic products and metal industries have been established, and it is also becoming a satellite city of Nagoya City. 74.90 km2 . 75,198 people (2010).

愛知県北西部の市。1954年市制。西部は濃尾平野,東部は丘陵地で,北境を流れる木曾川に面して犬山城をもつ成瀬氏の城下町から発達した市街があり,名鉄犬山線,小牧線,広見線が通じる。飛騨木曾川国定公園に属する日本ライン,毎年6月〜9月までの木曾川河岸での鵜飼い,サルの生態研究を行う日本モンキーセンターのある日本モンキーパークをはじめ入鹿(いるか)池や明治村,岐阜県可児(かに)市との境に1983年開館の野外民族博物館リトルワールドをもつ観光都市である。1960年代から工業団地が造成され,プラスチック製品,金属工業などが進出し,名古屋市の衛星都市化も進む。74.90km2。7万5198人(2010)。
